Collecting art should feel clear, intentional, and deeply reassuring. When you bring a piece into your home, you deserve to know exactly what it is, how many exist, and how the art is protected over time.

This page is the single source of truth for how I release each image, what “signed and numbered” means for my artwork, and how each purchase supports ocean conservation.

My Collector Promise

For every image I release, I commit to:

• Clear edition limits and tier definitions
• Consistent tracking
• Accurate language about signing, numbering, and documentation
• No surprise reprints once an edition tier is closed
• Transparent conservation contributions

Conservation Giving

Some images are offered with an added conservation focus, because the places that inspire this work deserve our protection.

Giving is defined by tier:

• Conservation Edition (CE): 100% of proceeds donated to ocean conservation
• Limited Edition (LE): 20% of proceeds donated to ocean conservation
• Starter Edition (SE): 15% of proceeds donated to ocean conservation
• Open Edition (OE): 10% of proceeds donated to ocean conservation

How proceeds are defined: Proceeds means net profit after direct selling costs (printing/production, packaging, shipping, and selling fees). Overhead is not included in direct selling costs.

Example: An artwork with a sale price of $100:

Sale Price: $100

Production:  -30

Packaging:     -7

Shipping:        -8

Selling fees   -10

-----------------------

Proceeds:      45

This means $45 will be donated if a Conservation Edition, $9 if a limited edition, $6.75 for a starter edition, and $4.50 for an open edition.

As previously stated, the overhead costs to run my art business are not deducted from the gross sale price before I pay the ocean. This means, $45 of proceeds less the contribution from the tier you select is all that is left to cover my overhead costs and pay myself. Yes, your math is right, sometimes I don't pay myself at all because giving to the ocean is just that important to me. 

To support transparency, I publish quarterly donation totals so collectors can see the impact See Life Inspiration Photography has made over time.

If an artwork is offered as a Conservation Edition, it will be clearly available in the "Edition" dropdown box on the purchase page.

Total Cap Per Image

For each editioned image, the maximum total number of impressions will not exceed the amount shown on the description page for each image. This number includes all sales across every tier, medium, and platform. This cap exists to protect rarity, honor collectors, and preserve the integrity of the work.

That total cap is made up of:

• Starter Edition (SE)
• Limited Edition tier total
• Limited Edition (LE)
• Conservation Edition (CE) - a carved-out subset of the limited edition total
• Note: If a Conservation Edition is not made available, the total number of prints are considered limited edition.
• Artist Proofs (AP)

 

How Edition Numbers Are Labeled

Because the same image may be available through multiple tiers, each tier carries a clear prefix so the edition you own is unmistakable:

SE = Starter Edition (example: SE 12/200)

LE = Limited Edition (example: LE 8/70)

CE = Conservation Edition (example: CE 4/25)

AP = Artist Proof (example: AP 3/20)

Numbers are assigned within each tier (SE/LE/CE/AP) rather than sequentially across the full 185.

 

Signature, Numbering, and Authenticity

Authenticity matters—not only on paper, but in the way you feel when you invest in a work.

SE, LE, and CE prints include a digitally printed signature and edition number (not hand-signed or hand-numbered). This decision was made so I can ship your artwork directly from my printing company, thus removing a step in the process and reducing carbon emissions created by additional shipping. This also ensures the artwork arrives at your doorstep with the protection, and shipping guarantee it deserves.

Limited Edition tier purchases (LE and CE) include enhanced documentation and authenticity features:

• A Certificate of Authenticity (COA) documenting the artwork title, edition type, edition limit, and your specific edition number
• An embossed mark, hologram seal, and artist stamp to support authenticity and documentation

Artist Proofs (AP) are hand-signed and hand-numbered and include the same COA as the LEs.

Each image, regardless of where it is sold, will clearly state the edition being sold in both the title and description of the sales page. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me first before making your purchase.

The Edition Tiers

1) Starter Edition (SE)

Starter Editions are designed to be an accessible way for anyone to begin collecting art as part of a limited release. Whether if they have space or other limitations, or maybe just prefer their art on a traditional canvas look, this is meant to be an entry point for collectors who want to live with the work now, and deepen their collection over time.

Edition limit

Unless otherwise indicated, 200 total impressions across the Starter Edition formats offered (SE 1/200 through SE 100/100).

Where they're sold:

• Amazon
• Etsy
• eBay
• In-person events

Signature & numbering

• Digitally printed signature and edition number (not hand-signed or hand-numbered).
• Starter Edition numbering will appear as SE x/100.

Documentation

Your artwork will include (mailed separately) a printed Edition Details Card (Not a Certificate of Authenticity) including:

• Artwork title
• Edition tier
• Edition limit

 

Formats and Sizes

Unframed Lustre Photo Paper, Gallery Wrapped Canvas, Framed Canvas, Metal

Starter Editions may be offered in sizes that span different aspect ratios. I will not crop my images for different ratios. If an aspect ratio differs from the original, the image may be distorted slightly to fit the size selected. I use my descerition to determine how much I will allow an image to be distorted, therefore not all sizes will be made available for all images.

To ensure you can purchase with clarity, mockups of each artwork in every size offered are included on the description page, so you can see exactly how it will appear before you buy.

Not all images will be available in all formats. Only the formats that best display the artwork will made available. Both formats and sizes are subject to change without notice.

Triptych sets (3-piece)

A triptych is one image split into three panels (not three different images). Triptychs are always treated as one editioned unit and are never counted panel-by-panel. There will be only one signature and one number on either the left or the right panel.

These are are offered in this tier only as they are intended to be accessible (smaller individual panels for ease and reduced cost). The difference is that Limited Editions are single-piece premium presentations designed for archival collecting (COA, premium substrates, museum-style finishes).

Selling across multiple marketplaces

Because Starter Editions are offered across multiple marketplaces, I manage availability carefully to protect the edition limit.

As an edition nears sellout, availability may consolidate to fewer sales channels to protect the edition limit and prevent overselling.

Specifically, once a Starter Edition for a specific artwork reaches 75% sold out, underperforming marketplaces for that artwork may be phased out.

Once the Starter Edition sells out for an image, those Starter formats for that image are permanently closed.

 

2) Limited Edition Tier

Limited Editions are created for collectors seeking the most elevated presentation of an image on premium materials only, considerable scale, and a protected release designed to hold its integrity over time.

The Limited Edition tier totals 75 impressions, split into two clearly labeled categories:

• Limited Edition (LE): 50 (labeled LE x/50)
• Conservation Edition (CE): 25 (labeled CE x/25) (a carved-out subset of the 75)

Where they're sold:

Limited Edition offerings are sold exclusively on my website or in-person events only.

Signature & numbering

Digitally printed signature and edition number (not hand-signed or hand-numbered).

Numbering will appear as LE x/50 or CE x/25.

Certificate of Authenticity

Every Limited Edition tier print includes a COA, plus an embossed mark, hologram seal, and artist stamp to support authenticity and documentation.

Limited Edition tier formats & sizes

• Framed Paper (fine art paper, mounted, and matted)
• Metal (single-panel)
• Framed Metal (single-panel)
• Acrylic (single-panel)

Not all images will be available in all formats. Only the formats that best display the artwork will made available. Both formats and sizes are subject to change without notice.

For collectors who prefer zero distortion, Limited Editions are offered only in sizes that preserve the image’s native proportions.

Some artworks will be offered only in select mediums and presentations at my discretion to ensure the artwork looks its best in that format.

Starter vs Limited Editions on Metal

Starter metal is offered in small sizes and triptych sets only. Limited Editions on metal are offered as large single-panel (framed & unframed) and includes a COA plus enhanced authenticity features.

When the Limited Edition tier is sold out (including both LE and CE allocations), it will not be produced again in this tier.

 

3) Conservation Edition

On select images only, I may carve out 25 pieces from the Limited Edition tier as a Conservation Edition for collectors who want their purchase to create direct, measurable impact.

Edition limit

25 total impressions labeled CE x/25 (a carved-out subset of the 75).

Giving

100% of proceeds are donated to The Ocean Cleanup, using the proceeds definition stated above.

Offerings

When offered, Conservation Editions will be available in the same formats and sizes as the Limited Editions, unless otherwise noted.

Signature, numbering, and documentation

• Digitally printed signature and edition number (not hand-signed or hand-numbered)
• Includes a COA, plus an embossed mark, hologram seal, and artist stamp
• Select Conservation Edition from the Edition dropdown box to select this offering.

 

4) Artist Proofs (AP)

Artist Proofs are a traditional collector category that exists outside the numbered edition tiers, reserved for selective release.

Edition limit

Up to 20 Artist Proofs labeled AP x/20.

Signature & numbering

Artist Proofs are hand-signed and hand-numbered.

Certificate of Authenticity (COA)

Artist Proofs include the same COA as the Limited Edition tier.

Note:

Artist Proofs are released selectively and may differ in presentation.

Sizes and mediums are determined on a case-by-case basis.

 

5) Open Editions (OE)

Separate images are offered as Open Editions, which are not part of the limited edition structure above. Open Editions are not capped and are not numbered, but will feature a digital signature in the bottom corner.

 

How I Track Editions

I maintain a private edition ledger for each artwork to ensure I never exceed the published limits. The ledger tracks:

• Edition tier
• Medium and size
• Edition number or AP label
• Sales channel
